Price matching

Hello,

Has anyone had any luck with your local dealers matching Rvdirect's pricing?

Yes. The first time I bought it, he did not bat an eye. The second time I tried it he got aggravated but came down quite a bit. He would not consider throwing in a medicine cabinet or anything. Issue with the second one was I could not trade-in at rvdirect so I'd be looking at selling my existing unit on my own.

I went threw my local dealer to order a new Eagle TT 338RETS with some options. Local dealer price $36,700. RV direct $33,900. But also have a 2015 Jayflight 27RLS to trade. Dealer only wants to give $14k. And RV direct said at the price they quoted me they wouldn't accept a trade. If I wanted to trade the prices would change.

I was happy with factory pricing and no sales tax. Plus, I get a factory tour , got a lower price than your 338 quote from RV Direct on my 330 with dual AC, upgraded 16" wheels and tires, and a king size bed. And the best part was no haggling. Tell Jessica I said hi if you decide to go this route next time.

Yes, I had a "local" (73 miles away) dealer come within a couple hundred dollars of RVDirect pricing. I got a quote from RVDirect first and shopped around to local dealers. My "local" guy came within about $600, enough to keep me local. When we came in to put a deposit down, they dropped $200 more after my wife mentioned RVDirect was lower. I think it ended up being about $300 or $400 over RVDirect and saved me a 730 mile round trip to Albany, NY.

I bought my new Greyhawk from RV One (Albany RV). Is that also RVDirect? RV One gave me a great price on my trade-in sight unseen and came down to very close to 30% off MSRP. My local dealer only had one Greyhawk (not the model I wanted) in stock and said he couldn't compete with RV One. I had a good experience buying from Albant RV.

Camping World in Denver just matched RV Direct pricing. They did add additional delivery fees for the extra mileage which I was fine with. I would have otherwise had to drive to Des Moines for pickup.

I had a dealer match RV Direct, but added back the difference RV Direct quoted for delivery from Jayco to Des Moines vs what delivery to CA would have been. I think it was an additional $1200-$1500.

I ended up buying private party used since I found the exact model on Craigslist we were looking to order from dealer.

Thanks for the responses,
I ended up ordering my eagle 338RETS today from my local dealer. I ordered mine with Every option except the tire upgrade and the dual pane windows. My local dealer was out door $2k more than RVdirect but they are 2 miles from my home and one of the largest family own dealers in Ohio. For what I would spend in fuel and time to travel to pick up, plus then having to take to a different dealer for services I decided to spend my money local with a family owned business vs a corporate business. My OTD price was $38,968.

fairenatic- If I buy out of state I would still have to pay sales tax at my DMV when getting it titled. How did you not have to pay sales tax?

What is factory pricing? You buy directly from Jayco?

We used RvDirect - got a hefty ~42% off MSRP and No destination charge.

Ended up bouncing the RV Direct price off 2 other dealers and had a 3 way shootout for my hard earned retirement cash.

MY local dealer got close enough on the pricing that I did not want to pay transportation costs to go out of state to pick up another unit!
