Prob w/ stabilizer jack

Have a 2012 jayflight 28bhs and was having problems with the stabilizer jacks kept needing to be adjusted. Would adjust them then would have to go back and readjust them later that evening or next morning. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

Are you camping on a soft surface? It is common for the ground under the jacks to compact, and then you need to adjust your jacks.

No, we were camping on a blacktop pad.

We always put 2 or 3 of the Tri-Lynx RV Levelers with cap unit under each jack even on black top, this helps spread the load and keep the units tight. I did have some of that problem until I started putting a little more pressure on the new jacks then I used to on my old TT jacks. I noticed according to the tags on the new ones they were rated 7500 pounds each so I could put more pressure on them. We also had a lot of shaking until we started putting BAL X chocks between wheels after leveling the unit up. This seemed to help the stabilizer jacks stay tight also - my theory is the shaking around of the wheel units on our 264bh that is 29'1" shows it actually needs a third set of jacks but the BAL X chocks stabilize the wheels and are cheaper on sale by the pair then 2 more 75000 pound stabilizer jacks! I believe the 28 bh you have is about the same length.

I have the same problem with my scissor stabilizers. It was good till I wanted to get the squeak out of them. They turned hard when we got the tt so I cleaned up the threads, a little lube, and wah- la. One likes to turn backwards under pressure on its own. Maybe yours doing the same.

We actually use the BAL chox and put down levelers.

Where there marks on the pad when you lifted your jacks?

We have a 29BHS and I installed a 3rd set of BAL 7500# jacks in front of the axles and we are very pleased with the results. It took the bounce out of the middle of the trailer. So far it seems well worth the time and $$$ to install.
