Propane hose replacement

I took off my tanks to touch up the paint on the gas tank platform and my hose broke near the tank.
Looking at stainless wrapped vs. plain rubber
Also, looking at with at hose that has a LP indicator. Can't be accurate but will show if you are out at a glance.

Any preference, rubber, stainless and/or gauge added. Price is $13 to $25 area.

Glad it happened during routine maintenance at home than on the road with a cold night coming!!! Plenty of time to decide, order, install and test. And have a spare for future use.

We bought the stainless braided hoses, just to help deter the errant squirrel. I don't have any gauges at the tanks since it takes us so long to empty one. Just the red and green float indicator that's on the regulator.

I can’t speak to the stainless hoses, but they seem like a good upgrade. As for the gauge, if it’s anything like the one on my home BBQ tank (looks like it) it’s inaccurate at best. I can tell the status far more accurately by just lifting the tank and juggling it a bit.

I recommend that you remove the existing from the regulator and watch out in case there are springs and ball bearings to achieve a one-way gas function. Examine the fitting type.

Propane gauges made by the same folks that make them for holding tanks, perhaps?

I like stainless to help protect the rubber from UV damage.

Can't comment on the use of the stainless hose...., but last year I replaced mine with 15" long rubber pigtail hoses in lieu of the original 12". The 15" pigtail relaxed the radius-bends, and also reduced the hose tension at the crimped hose ends, especially at the hose/brass connection at the regulator (prone to leak).

The LP tank cover fit fine.

Our original China hoses leaked early on. Get stainless if you're worried about vermin chewing them, but most importantly, buy American.
