Have you tried running the furnace?

Are you turning the propane off between trips. There might be a slight seepage somewhere in the system allowing air intrusion into the hoses.

propane purge

I allways have to purge stale propene if my rv sits for about 3 weeks or longer. All of my older rv's were the same way. I assume it's normal. Usually light the stove first and everything else will light.

You didn't post the year of your RV. If it is an older model rubber does degrade over time. If you are shutting off between uses I would get some soapy water, turn on the propane and start at the front and work back. I bet you will find bubbles around the hose or one of the joints. Also, chance that one of the valves at the furnace, water heater or fridge is not closing 100%. I have to purge but not if it has only been a few weeks between uses. Longer and it is very reasonable.

In both trailers I've owned (purchased new) I've had to purge the lines after a shutdown for a week or more. I turn the tanks off at the end of a trip so there must be fittings that are not perfect that over time allow whatever gas is in the lines to escape. That said if never detected an odor or had the propane gas detector go off.
