Propane tanks on during storage?
I was just wondering, what's the majority here on the tanks during storage in camping season. We brought our new TT home this past wkd and I instinctively turned 'em off before parking her in the barn.

I would definitely agree with turning them off when not in use. That just eliminates a potential failure of the regulator or lines as a possible cause of either fire or just leaking your gas away. Rarely would you have a problem with a reg in good condition, but this is just extra insurance.

I shut mine off. If the system is properly sealed, it will not lose pressure. I know some leave them on to run the fridge in transit, and such. I just dont feel comfortable doing that. Just me.

I leave mine on so if the power goes out the refrigerator will run on gas.

Define storage  For us as typically weekenders I turn them off. If i's for a day or 2 I might leave them on to run the fridge as stated above.
On both trailer I've owned, after I've left the propane off for a while (days/months) it takes a while to get propane to the various systems. I'm not sure if this means there is a very small leak somewhere or just the nature of propane. But it makes me think off is best....

Never thought about turning them off. I have left mine on since I bought the trailer a year ago. The only time I actually run on propane is from the house to the camp site. I'm still on the first bottle of propane. Now I turn it off on my BBQ at home all the time.

Huh, looks like most people turn em off during storeage. My knee jerk reaction was to turn off. Our first camping trip in the TT will be this wkd. Luckily for us we have a nice state park within 5mls of us so I don't need to keep the fridge cold during transit. I think I will use the propane on the fridge once I get there just for testing before switching to shore pwr. Thanks for all the input JOF members!
