The hitch is not levitating in the air. It is attached to the trailer which has the wheels, which touch the ground and support the weight. You can play with the tongue weight by moving the trailer wheels or making the tongue shorter / longer.

Now it is the end of story...

An extra 100lbs is just that no matter how you define it. You can call tongue weight, receiver load, or payload if you like but for a vehicle that’s heavily loaded already it’s just more weight. Many of them are probably already close to or over one critical weight rating. If you have the extra weight capacity and use the Propride for the sway control that’s great and some certainly do. For many it’s just a bandaid since it’s cheaper than purchasing the proper TV they should’ve had in the first place.

Yes, 100 lbs is 100 lbs no matter what. However, depending on the things I mentioned above, 100 lbs of metal may or may not be 100 lbs of tongue weight (in fact, rarely it be 100 lbs).

Not even worth discussing hypothetical owner of overloaded TV...

Agreed! It’s just something that rarely comes up when I see discussions about the hitch and those that do think it magically disappears some how.

We could work out a swap now that the season is over for us.
