Proud new Jay Flight 33RBTS owner!
Wednesday we brought home our 2018 Jay Flight 33RBTS! Only thing that sucks is we had to just take it straight to storage as Indiana is still covered in snow. Can't wait to take it out! Anyone else have this model and have any special tips to offer? Looking forward to many trips in 2018...

Congrats on the new camper!
I'd just say to be careful on loading it as the tongue will get heavy pretty quick. Make sure that you've got the correct WDH for it and verify at the CAT scales.
Enjoy!

Congrats on the way trailer. If towed through snow and salt I would wash before storing. that salt can lead to a rusty havoc on the frame.

On the tongue weight. I recent got a sherline TW scale. Just playing around I found out that my 32BHDS weighs 1200 on the tongue in winter storage mode. So it easily weighs 1600 when we are using it. So I will we rearranging some things this spring because I've been over my hitch ratings since day 1.

Wow I had better check this for sure. I knew I would need at least a 3/4 ton truck to pull this with (bought a '15 Ford F250 6.7l PSD), but I didn't realize the tongue weights are often understated. Payload is only rated at 1750 lbs for my truck, I have a family of five and a dog weighing in around 650 lbs, I am going to be pushing over my payload anytime we go out! That seems like a very low payload rating. It is a crew cab, 6.9 ft, Lariat model, but I thought I would have plenty of payload in reserve. Anyone ever added another leaf spring to their F250? I heard that is the only major difference between a 250 and 350.

Forgot to mention, I did buy a weight distribution hitch along with the trailer, so I am really hoping that helps keep my tongue weight down.

While technically you will be overweight with the diesel F250, the same truck with the 6.2 gasser will have close to 3,000# capacity. They have the same suspension I would bet. I would run it as is and if you need some extra support, look into an extra leaf or air bags. Unless your state is very strict or the truck has DOT numbers on the side, I highly doubt you will ever get pulled over and weighed.

Yep the diesel eats up a lot of payload. My '12 PSD Crew cab short box in the XLT trim had 2300lbs of payload. Since we don't tow that much I traded it in on a '17 F-250 gasser that has 3300lbs of payload. Our current camper has 1450lbs on the tongue and when I had the diesel, the truck squatted and had a lot of bounce to it with my WDH, which is a Reese 1500lb setup with a Reese Titan 2.5'' shank. I ended up putting a set of Timbrens on it and that took away a lot on bounce and made the towing experience better. I removed the Timbrens before I traded in my '12 and they're in the "For sale" section of this Forum if you decide to go that route at a later time but they will not increase your payload capacity. They will fit your '15 F-250 and it's a 30 minute install. Your '15 will have no issues towing your camper but you're correct in that you'll be at least 400lbs over payload with just your family and nothing else loaded in the truck/camper and I base this on a 1500lb tongue.

So far I have only towed it empty with two adults. The rear end squatted some bit the ride was smooth. I will take it on a few trips and see if I think it needs more I guess.

I have timbrens as well. we carry a golf cart in the bed too. I have a 3100lb payload and we are carrying right at 2900lbs. The truck has no issues.

Recheck your payload. I have a fairly stock 2017 F250 6.7 diesel that the door sticker says 2250lb payload.
