Question on surge protector

I'm wondering if anyone could give me advice. I just bought a portable surge protector. Now I realize that there is the possibility that someone could unplug and take it if we were not at our site. Is there a way to latch it/lock it/disguise it? I'm not saying that a theft would happen, but I'd like to take precautions anyway. It wasn't cheap!

Thanks for suggestions.

There are several locking devices on the market...look at camping world to get an idea then shop around for better pricing.

I use a bicycle lock/ cable. I just wrap it around pedestal to take slack out the use the end to attach in the middle of surge protector. I use this at my seasonal site. I dont bother to lock when just on a weekend trip some place else.

I have the SurgeGuard clamshell lockable housing that locks the TT power cable to the EMS.

Several also just close the door on the power box and pad lock with the EMS plugged in.

I put a pad lock on the power pedestal. Most have them.

Do unlocked surge protectors really get stolen?

I used an external one for about 5 years. Never had one stolen or never heard of anything else being stolen from a campground we were in. ON my new 33.5RETS we have an onboard surge protection built in.

We have the 34730 Surge Guard and initially I locked on using the box that came with mine but recently after getting tired of having to hook it up at the post everytime I rewired and brought it inside my rear storage compartment....power still travels thru it to get to the inside of the TT.

Some people will steal anything. In our seasonal site a golf cart has been stolen and found nearby sans batteries. The ice boxes which used to be unlocked were emptied out, twice I think. Seems the thefts are mostly when the Renaissance Festival is open three miles away. Just sayin'.

Thanks for your ideas! I did buy a cable lock so will try that, but the idea of having the unit inside the trailer seems like a safe solution too (if I can figure out how to hook it up the way it's pictured here!)
