Questions about Jay Feather 24RL

Is there anyone out there with a Jay Feather 24RL? Does it really need the second AC in the bedroom or does the vented AC work well enough? Also, did you get the tri-fold couch? If so...could it sleep a mom and child? Trying to find a new layout that will fit all of us in when my daughter and family go with us...but keeping the length down to below 29 foot. Thanks for your help.

Is that because the bedroom wouldn't cool enough with the one AC in the living area even though it is ducted to the bedroom?

With our 28.5 Ht we haven't had a problem. The one "whisper quiet" ducted one works well for us. Ours is wired for a second air conditioner in the bedroom to replace the vent, but never needed a second one yet. When camping, we hook up to the 30 amp pedestal, so with two 15000 units instead of one, you may or may not be looking at a 50 amp plug in. We have that also, but haven't needed it, and a lot of campgrounds up here don't have 50 amp yet anyway. The ones that do have 50 amp we still 30 amp cord. Only one reason. that 50 amp cord is horrible in temps below 30 deg. Very stiff.

I have a 2019 24RL with the second air and the 50 amp service option that comes with it. I only use the bedroom air unit for "that" quick cool down when you get to the campground, other wise the main ducked unit cools fine even in Florida summer temps.

The best thing about the second air is you can turn off the "ducked unit" and run the bedroom unit while your watching TV or eating and enjoy the peace and quiet!
The 50 amp service option is the best deal, you can use all the stuff (both airs, water heater, microwave, etc) at once without having to worry about tripping a breaker!

We hve a 2018 Jayfeather 27 RL. After I worked on the A/C the wife now complains that it blows too cold. Only have one a/c. Been camping in 105 temps and stays nice and cool.

We have a new 2022 24RL. It was ordered with the 50 amp upgrade for just that purpose if needed. Compared to our previous rv, a 28 foot class c with a Dometic 15,000 btu ac, the new Furrion is much more efficient, much quieter, and does a good job of cooling on it's own.
Have been on 3 shakedown trips, all in 90 degree temps, one campground wit no shade, and ac kept inside at a comfortable 76-78 degrees. Of course, shades must be closed on sun side or it will heat up quickly.
Also, there is only one ac vent in the bedroom, but at night if you need more, leave the bedroom to bathroom door open and swivel the bathroom vent toward the bedroom...doubles the airflow to the bedroom.
Sofa...can't help you...just 2 of us so we opted for the theater seating, and had Jayco delete the booth and add a free standing dinette and chairs.
