Questions regarding new Whitehawk 29BH
Hi everyone,
I have some questions regarding our new white hawk we picked up last week. Right now, we have it sitting in the driveway, winterized, and will be moving it to a storage lot next week until our first trip in April (CAN'T WAIT!).
1. It's not completely level in the driveway, is it okay to still move the slide out? My wife wants to get things packed in it.
2. Should I leave the camper plugged in to my house with the converter it came with? It's not right now.
3. I left the electric tongue jack on when I first got it home and it appears to have drained the battery. How long will it take to charge it back up when I hook the 7 pin up to my TV?
4. Is it okay to turn on the propane to get the heater going so we aren't freezing while getting our camper set up with pots, pans, etc? Its cold in Detroit this time of year.
I think that's it for now. Thank you!!!
5.

How far out of level side to side or front to back?

I would, will take care of question 3 too.

Thanks for your responses.
It's not level side to side and it's not by much. Probably 3 inches on the slide side would bring it to level.

Just my preference. If you plan to go in and out of the trailer, I would level it. This way you can enjoy it in the driveway and show it to the neighbors. Otherwise it doesn’t need to be level, but 3” would drive me nuts. Plug in shore power to keep the battery charged.

Why not put the tires on a 2x8 or two? As Scott mentioned it is not required, but it would bug me too!

X2 & 3 with another view about leveling. Since this is a new trailer I would level it for a few reasons. First, I would retest everything before you put into storage, stove, microwave refrigerator, etc. Then, while level, I would open and close all drawers, slide, fill the sinks with an inch of water, fill the shower with an inch of water, and then check everything for leaks, missing screws etc. Take you time, get to know the trailer. Then, if you find things you want to do you can plan them while stored. My DW and I did this and by the time we were ready to go out she had all her kitchen utensils, pots, pans, ice trays etc. And, the reason I suggest leveling is that is the way you should be operating the trailer and trying things out while level will forewarn you of any issues.

Suggest the OP "practice" camping in their driveway---as much as the weather will allow. Lots easier to figure out how-to, problems and solutions, now, than in April, when you're potentially many miles away from home (and the dealership).

if you are at your house don't charge the batteries with a 7 pin.. get a 3amp tender and keep the batteries charged..
if winter don't put water in anything...

You need to get that battery charged up asap and hooked up to a power source if you are in and out getting things set up.
The way I look at it the 7 way connector on your truck isn't for charging the battery, it's just for keeping it topped off. Actual charging requires plugging the trailer in or connecting an external charger.

1- I would level it. Like others have said, by using a board under the tires.
2- I would plug the camper in all the time when u have it at the houses.
3- I wouldn’t expect the 7 pin plug to charge a dead battery.
4- definitely run the heater. Ours would set off the smoke alarm the first few times we ran the heat.
Enjoy it!
