Quick Connect Port on the 26BH

Since my TT is in storage, I'm wondering if anyone out there can confirm something for me about the QC port on a 2013 26BH (which I assume is similar to the QC on any newer Jayco):

I bought a QC hose but I've heard the QC on the TT isn't a standard fitting.. Just wondering if anyone knows if the female QC connector on the TT can be removed and replaced with a different type of QC connector.. In other words, can you remove the female QC, which would expose 1/4" NPT threads, and thread on a different one that works with the hose?

Here is the hose I bought:

Thanks,
Dan

The one you purchased may fit. I bought one from amazon made by Camp Chef. When I went to attach it to the qc on the tt, it would not fit. I went to a local camping store and purchased just the male end(made by camco)and it fit fine. Then I simply added it onto a propane extension hose that I purchased at Lowes and had what I needed. I'm not sure if I would return it until you try it. I think it should fit the qc end fine.

I went ahead and got rid of the grill that came with the TT (Loving Ebay!). I converted a Weber Q Grill 200 series to work with the QC fitting, and got a 10' extension hose on Amazon. ***Do not be stifled by the folks that tell you it is not possible. It took a bit of figuring due to the fact that the standard air hose fittings will not work. They are not considered suitable for LP, so what you get at Depot or Lowes is not a help. You will have to remove the regulator on the Q Grill, as the TT is already putting out regulated pressure. I finally found the QC fittings needed ironically at a tiny hardware store that had LP QC fittings for portable propane heaters. NONE of the local trailer places in Seattle had a clue and gave me the deer in the headlights look when asked. BTW, the Q Grill 200 series will barely fit in the TT front storage area on a 25BHS (I am guessing this is a standard opening for Jayco)...There is an awesome post on here titled "LP Quick Connect Conversion" by Bob Landry that gave me the confidence to push on and that it indeed can be done. - Thanks Bob if you read this!!!!!

Just to follow up and in case anyone else has trouble tracking down quick connect equipment that is compatible with their TT, the quick connect hose I posted above did indeed work with my 26BH. I also found a compatible male QC fitting with 1/4" threads at my local RV dealership that I'm going to connect to my Weber Q after disconnecting the regulator so I can run it off the TT's QC port.

One thing to remember that threw me off at first: The male end will not fit unless the lever on the female end is set to "OFF". Once connected, switch to "ON". Then to disconnect, switch back to "OFF". This confused me because the lever was in the "ON" position when my TT came from the factory, so I had to switch it to "OFF" before it would fit.

Both the QC hose and male fitting I purchased stated on the packaging that they are compatible with Olympian 5100 and 5500 grills. I'm sure there are others that work, but if you see "Connects Olympian 5100 and 5500" on the front of the package, I can confirm it will fit.
