Radio/DVD Player etc.

Come back from a short camp out , 3 days , and noticed my radio,/ DVD player had come loose and was hanging down. After some looking at I know why. The panel it is attached to is very thin and the radio /DVD player is very heavy, makes for a bad mounting problem. This is a 2017 Jayco 23RB. I took some pics to stare at anybody else have this problem. I never use it , never touched it just needs mounted with better support, I am taking it in for warranty. Thanks

I have the same problem only worse. First, the screws all pulled out of the wood around the unit. Second, the previous owner cut all the wires and did something to them and reconnected everything. Third, two of the wires that should connect on the back at the plug are missing and none of the wires are labeled. So, I have a nice radio/tape player that I cannot use and have no way of reconnecting, let alone reconnect correctly. I wouldn't even be able to put a newer unit in, because there doesn't seem to be a way to get the wires correctly attached.

If I were you, I would not take it in to the dealer for warranty work on a problem this simple. You may regret it, as they may have it for an extended time. I pulled my radio to put an actual shut off on it (to eliminate phantom draw on the battery). When I reinstalled it, I bolstered it up with some actual wood behind the panels, so it would mount securely. Easy to do, and not have to tow it to the dealer and wait who knows how long...plus, I have more confidence in things I fix than what the dealer might do.

Surely you can get an installation manual from Jayco if it was their brand, that was originally installed. That’s too bad , some people are dumb as door knobs.
Good luck. Thanks.

I usually either epoxy a small block of wood behind the screw hole or soak the screw holes in thin paneling with super glue and let it soak into the wood and dry to reinforce it.
