Radio keeps magically turning on...

I just have a small Jayco 145RB TT... and it is has a basic 'car radio' mounted in the cabinet. It occasionally just turns on by itself. It's a little annoying. It is an Axxera AXM120 radio. Anyone having this issue?

It plays from a USB/Thumb drive and doesn't have a CD slot. I had considered replacing it but I rarely use it. I use it more when it decides on its own.

Check the alarm function. Most radio complaints of this nature can be cured by turning the alarm function off.

Doesn't have one. My radio does the same ghostly thing.

No alarm function... This is a low-end, cheap, car radio.

Anyway, this happens at random times.... it might go for a few months without doing it and then it might do it five times in a day.

At first, I thought maybe something was pressing against the remote control as it was stored in a cabinet but that is not the case -- the batteries have been removed from the remote and this radio still does it.

I'm sure we do not have the same radio, but when we got our TT, ours use to do that. I think part might have been the alarm clock. But as soon as I removed the batteries from the remote it has never done it since.

Edit; I see you replied while I was multitasking and writing very slowly.

Have you tried closing the blinds? You maybe getting a stray signal from somewhere else. Wonder if you can find the IR input and place a small piece of tape over it.

Since you don’t normally use it, how about pulling the fuse for it?

The remote was going to be my guess.

When it comes on, the presets are the same, or it acts like it lost power then came on with generic presets?

It doesn't lose any settings or anything... so it is not a power issue from the RV. Also, others on here and another board have added that they've had a similar issue, I'm not sure if the person here had the same model but on the other board that person did. I didn't pull a fuse for it because it doesn't have its own fuse, there are three other things listed for the same fuse and because it isn't a critical issue. I'm was just curious if someone else also had a defective radio.

Any chance this coincides with turning the 12 volts on and off? Or disconnecting truck or shore power?

One of my Jensen TVs did this and the cure was a firmware flash update that ASA sent me. ASA is who owns Jensen.

Have you tried contacting Axxera?

No... it isn't when turning on/off or connecting/disconnecting the shore power or vehicle; it just seems to be a problem with the radio. It does it while connected for shore power for long periods of time and while it is not connected to any vehicle. It has also done it when no power or vehicle was connected when dry, primitive camping.

They have not replied with anything helpful and they have no updates for this model; this is a basic model.
