Rainier Tires On Brand New Trailer

I just bought a brand new 2024 195RB and noticed its has Rainier ST tires. Jayco's website says all of their trailers come with Goodyear tires. Is this true? Did the dealer switch out my tires on a brand new trailer?

I am surprised that Jayco would advertise all anything on their website. Or seems like that would put them in a bad negotiating position with suppliers. I've also seen the "subject to change" statement in a few places.

I couldn't find any specifics to Goodyear listed anymore.

I don't know... I have read for many years that some Jayco's come with the Rainier tires. ~CA

Perhaps the keyword is "standard" and that there are optional wheels and tires that the dealer can specify.

"All Jayco travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers come standard with Goodyear Endurance radial special trailer (ST) tires. "

However the link posted above is dated 2019

I just now saw this on their website

Additional Safety Features
Deserving of their own mention aside from ride and handling, RV tires are literally where the rubber meets the road and not all are made the same. Factors like speed ratings, carrying capacities and warranties from the tire brands are important to consider. At Jayco, we choose American-made, Goodyear® Endurance™ (select models) and Uniroyal® ‘H’ rated tires (select models) for our travel trailers and fifth wheels because they are made to be towed and boast leading weight and speed ratings in the industry.

I will add that my shared link is from a "blog" (whatever that means) and when I have read more official appearing documents from Jayco there was always (usually) a disclaimer that the installed equipment could be different \ substituted based on ??? or something like that and to check the build sheet (or something along these lines). ~CA

Just about every manufacturer has the "Right to change without notice" disclaimer on their web site. As BarryG posted it says "select models".

Really the bottom line is with the disclaimer anything could be substituted and it's caveat emptor at signing. Seems a little crazy. I'd support a truth in buying law that requires a separate sheet detailing what substitutions were made from advertised.

I call it deceptive advertising. On my current trailer (2019 Bullet) it came with Rainiers. On my trade-in, I had just replaced the Rainiers on my Jayco 195RB with Carlisles and didn't want to throw a wad of money at tires again, so I used the Rainiers for two years.

If you read what barryg posted they no longer specify GOODYEAR on all trailers. Also the brochure for the trailer the OP purchased does not list GOODYEAR as the past models did.

How is that deceptive advertising?

Few companies print anything that the lawyers have not given a thorough going over. This is pretty much all about nothing because somewhere in the documents the company has left themselves and out.

In the world of contract law, a stated clause called 'force majeure' is a given, ie: act of god clause. A contract for sales of goods and services, the governing factor is the UCC law of 'impracticability'. In other words, substitutions happen, performance is sometimes substandard, and caveat emptor is always at play.

I assumed "their website" was current. Doesn't matter. You do a walk around to see what you get.

The 2019 was in reference to what craigav posted, barryg's info is what is current.

80% True

My 2021 Jayco came with Goodyear endurance all the way around including the spare. My brand new 2024 came with new Goodyear Endurance on the axles but a Ranier Tire as a spare. I contacted Jayco and “they” told me that they don’t consider the spare as on the rig so it didn’t have to be a Goodyear. I immediately purchased a matching Goodyear as the spare. This is all cost cutting. Thor Industries (owner of Jayco) is really cutting back to make the price points lower on a lot of their units. Not such a deal as many may think.

The Jayflight 262 rls , which is the low end SLX model does not advertise Goodyear tires. The 265 rls does. The Whitehawk is stocked out with Goodyears. Its a crap shoot with the other models.

The spare didn't always match even before the buyout. My 2015 had a different brand spare then what was on the ground.

Unfortunately I had bad luck with Goodyear Endurance the past few years on our Pinnacle, put on Carlisle tires a year ago and much happier with the Carlisle
