A lack of refrigerant would be the most likely cause.

Is adding coolant possible? Is there a way to get instructions on how to add coolant. I took my trailer to camping world and they tried to sell me a new ac for $1400

Most RV units do not come with recharge ports and you are better off replacing it.

Danby DAC080MUB1GDB is the unit in the camper. Per Danby this unit is discontinued and Danby tells me there is no specific model that replaces it. Danby suggested Costco or Hime Depot but I cannot find unit with the correct dimensions. Any suggestions on finding a new unit other than camping world wanting to charge me $1400

Is it a window unit? It seems like measuring the opening and finding one that will fit should be easy. You may need to add some insulation around it to avoid drafts and critters getting in.

These are window AC units. All you need is the actual dimensions and find one that will fit. Slightly smaller dimensions ok as you can add shims.

There are some old posts on how to remove a sidewall AC and replace it. On mine you would remove a U shaped wood cover via two screws. Then you can see screws at the top holding it in place. Don't forget to unplug it from the cabinet next to it. Should pop out with a lot of wiggling. It weights about 30/40 pounds, get help lifting!

I saw some posts on how to do it in the past (year or two ago) but can't seem to find it for you.

Post how it comes out plus some pics. I would love to upgrade to a quieter AC even though mine works like a champ. Moab at 108 degrees and it was still comfortably cool in there.

Yes you would think is would “be easy” to find a unit the same size or “slightly smaller” but the only ones I’ve found do not have the top support bracket or are just slightly bigger or a few inches smaller in width. ( I have searched the internet extensively including Amazon. The manual says the unit is 18.5x13.5x15.5 but it is not it is really 18x13x15

Thanks for the Amazon link but that unit is 24” wide.

If anyone does find instructions on how to remove please share that link. ( assuming I can find a suitable replacement)
