Ready to buy - towing questions

We're getting close to buying a SLX195RB. This will be our first RV and have questions about towing. I have a new Chevrolet Colorado crew-cab Z-71, short-bed, Rear wheel-drive, V-6, factory towing package with a Chevrolet Accessory Curt Tri-Flex Brake Controller. Towing capacity is 7000 pounds. Question is, will I need to add a sway-control device? I was looking specifically at a Curt Sway Control kit # 17200. Are there any other things I should consider? Thanks for your input.

I towed a 195RB Baja for about 5 years with a RAM 1500. I'd recommend a weight distribution hitch with built-in sway control. There are a number of good ones available. Many of them do not need to be removed before backing up. I used an Andersen No-Sway which worked really good on the small and light 195RB. I towed it several times in some very heavy winds without trouble and it was always stable when being passed, or passing semis on the interstate.

Would that plug right into my existing factory-hitch, or does that one need to be removed and the Anderson one installed in it's place?

As Midnightmoon indicated, it will insert into your factory receiver. Here is a picture of what the Andersen on my 195RB looked liked when installed and adjusted with the factory hitch on my RAM:

One more question - what size ball does the 195RB take?

My 2015 195RB Baja had a 2" ball. It likely hasn't changed but to be sure I'd verify that.

The Anderson would be a great match for your TT. Ours works great with a bit heavier trailer.
