Rear Bumper 195RB

Has anyone ever upgraded/strengthened the rear bumper on their TT. My 195RB has a thin-wall 4" square tube bumper. I wish to mount a couple of things to it without risking having it break of like has happened to so many people.
If you have done this, please explain what you did and/or post pictures.
Please refrain from the topic of hitch weight. I fully understand the issue and will make appropriate adjustments to keep things balance properly.

I reinforced my former 26' Rockwood TT rear bumper with these safety struts to support a two-bike rack. Traveled over 7K miles with these bumper supports and bikes. Never an issue. I will be installing them again soon on our new Jay Feather 25RB.

On my 185RB Baja, I welded a couple of metal straps to the top weld seams. That takes the tension off that weak top weld and helps keep the bottom weld in compression. I did this so that I could install a bumper-mounted receiver and use my Kuat bike carrier.

If you add anything to the bumper, I recommend following behind the trailer on typical roads to see if the movement--which can be excessive behind the axle of a trailer with no shocks--is reasonable and within the material strengths of your mounts, carriers, etc.

Been there done that. Not concerned about hitch weight either.

BUT, my problem was the door. The frames on these things aren't exactly sturdy. If / when you add weight to the back end, make sure your door is not binding. A little frame flex can bring about other unexpected problems.
