We just got back from an eight-day trip to the Flagstaff, AZ area. We stayed at the Flagstaff KOA while we were at the Highland Games, and then moved over to the Bonito Campground at Sunset Crater. This was the first year in several that it didn't rain on the Games, but we had a couple of excellent rainy days at Bonito.
We recently bought a few DVDs to play when we're plugged in, and they live in the little cabinet over the TV. Apparently we didn't shut that door as securely as we thought we did, because when we got to Bonito and extended the dinette slide, we heard a dreadful noise, which we thought came from the slide mechanism, but which was actually the cabinet door ripping off! Yikes! Luckily, this is something DH can fix ... and we won't make
that mistake again!
On the bright side, the homemade blackout curtains work just fine. The foam board panel we cut to fit into the skylight needs a little work, but Gorilla tape over one side of it will keep light from diffusing through it.
We have ordered proper short queen sheets, and are looking for a new mattress; asked on another thread if anybody knows how thick it can be and still fit the Murphy bed. Still love the Murphy bed, too.
We're coming up on our one-year anniversary with this trailer, and we still think it's absolutely perfect for us. DH says it's not that hard to back it up, and we haven't had any trouble on the road (other than a flat tire near Santa Fé, where we had a flat with our old pop-up, too, the year before. DW thinks we should not go anywhere near Santa Fé again).
There are a couple of things we need to get fixed: the front burner on the stove doesn't work at all now, the water pump makes a funny noise, and the front stab jacks have to be cranked by hand. The warranty (yay! for a two-year warranty) will cover those things, though, and our dealer's good with fixes.
Our next big trip is in early September, though we hope to find a couple of days in August when we can go out.
