Recommended accessories?

We've been camping in popup trailers for the past 25+ years, and have acquired a fair quantity of camping gear along the way. Now that we've bought a 'real' trailer (2011 Jayco Flight 24RKS) however, I have the feeling that there are some items out there that you seasoned veterans of the open road find indispensible, or at least awfully handy. So, what should I not live without for another day? Thanks for your suggestions!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new TT. Hopefully, the dealer supplied you with a starter package. I've got a drill to raise and lower the stab jacks, tools, air pressure gauge and a propane gauge. You might ck Walmart and Amazon in their rv sections. They have a lot of items.

Even though many items from your pop-up will get transferred, graduating from a pop-up to a "real" trailer will be like furnishing another house. I know because we did it ourselves 11 years ago (and never regretted it!).

However, to assist you in the transition, you might want to look at the link below and puruse the lists of items that members have posted. It may give you some ideas.

Hello and congrats on the new TT. This is a list that will go on for miles-or so it seams. I really like my Lynx levelers, power tongue jack, a nice big cooler full of ice cold beer! Enjoy!

3 years ago I purchased a 2007 25RKS and used it for a year with the standard tongue jack.
The next year, I found a good deal on an electric tongue jack.

I would recommend and HIGHLY suggest that an electric tongue jack be your next "Accessory" to purchase. I have Equal-i-zer WD system and I need to raise and lower that jack a few times each time I connect and few more when I disconnect.
Saves the back from strain (but builds nice biceps). The electric tongue jack is the best accessory I have purchased so far!!!

A cordless drill for the stab jacks is another good suggestion, but that accessory is up to you. I found it makes set up faster and gets me to the cooler full of ice cold beer much faster!!!!!

Do you have wheel chocks for the "Real" trailer? If not, that should be the very first accessory to purchase!!!

Then there is a few things that you can produce far cheaper than you can buy...

* Water system blow out plug.

* Wheel Chocks.

* Tongue Jack stand...

(No Pic)

But the jack stand is basically criss-crossed 4x4 lumber with saddles so you just stack them up and then you don't have to real down the jack as far also allowing to jack highier for the WD bars...

I must say I have an issue with ice cold beer being and accessory when camping. It is a necessity!! We just bought our trailer last October and have been furnishing it, without going overboard. Lynx leveler's, patio mat, comfy camp chairs, X chocks are next on my list.

Sorry about the mix-up, the beer IS a necessity. I also have BAL X-Chocks, they really do help with the "jiggles" they may be bordering on the necessity list as well.

If your trailer came with stabalizer jacks you are good to go. If not you might consider getting some bolt on ones or at least free standing jacks.

Not really exclusive to hybrids, but the best thing we purchased while we had our popup, which moved with us to the hybrid, is a portable ice maker. Fresh plentiful ice all camping trip! Great if you drink mixed drinks like us while camping.

Along with some others that have been mentioned, Fair Weather is the best accessory for camping! -Lee

I agree with all of the above (especially a nice beer cooler), I'd add a portable grill to take along as well as a good all purpose survival knife.
I won't go anywhere without my Esee 6p knife.

Enjoy your TT!

Best accessory you can buy....power tongue jack... makes putting them weight bars on sooooo much easier.. THEN if you have $$$$ to burn... get a Hensley Arrow Hitch system.
