Refrigerator?
We are currently out camping in our 2015 Jayflight 29RKS. We have had the fridge running since Sunday afternoon. Yesterday, after we got set up, we noticed that it is still not as cold as it should be. It is set on the coldest setting. In our old Jayflight, it would have been ice cold by now. Any advice?

"Cold as it should be"? If you put a temperature gauge in refrigerator then you will know accurately.

X2 on the thermometer in the fridge.
On one of our overnight stops last year, we didn't level the trailer from side-to-side very well. Although the angle was a bit annoying for a while, we didn't want to take the time to change it. In the morning we did notice that the fridge wasn't as cold as usual.

It started on gas and is now on shore power.
Good point on the temp gauge. I will get my A/C temp gauge out of my truck and put it in there.
Our old trailer would freeze liquids on the coldest setting and usually only took one day to cool down.
Thanks for helping.

That's an interesting point. When we have our trailer in front of our house to load up it isn't level. It didn't seem to matter with the old trailer so I didn't pay much attention to that fact. It seems to be doing better now that we are camping and level. I just checked the thermometer and it is showing 40 degrees in there.

40 is good, but you might want to put one of those cheapo battery op'd fans inside to even out the temperature. It is especially helpful, IMO, in warm weather.

Any suggestions on brands? Or is there even more than one available. I was telling the wife we should look into those when we get home.

No real help here, but I have found two things over the years. A fan on the cooling coils really helps maintain even temperature and it cools down quicker. Second, depending on how the frig is packed depends on how cool it gets. We have not been out this year yet, so I don’t recall which way is which anymore, but if I recall correctly if the Frig is packed really tightly ours runs very cold, to the point the veggie drawer would be frozen, and if it is moderately packed it is just right. Using the fan has help keep the temperature more consistent, and get the frig cooled down faster.

There only seems to be the 2 D cell, blue one in RV supply stores. The claim is it cuts initial cool down time 50%. But Home Depot shows a Fridge Aerator available online only that may or may not be any better. Just google RV refrigerator fan. Prices are under $15.

Temperature of the food you place in the refrig makes a huge difference in how fast it will get to temperature. We always try to place already cold food into the frig, especially when first starting out. Folks compare an RV frig to a home frig and they are not close to being the same. I agree about the fan, plus, we try to never open it all the way or leave it open for any length of time, takes too long to recover.
Good Luck. !
