Newbie question, so I pre-chill the frig for about 24 hrs before leaving. So do you let it run on gas while towing? I have read how important it is to be level. It would seem if you are going up and down hills while towing, that would be bad?

Thanks

Thanks Threebutchers, excellent answer, including the technical WHY. I'm the kind that really enjoys knowing the why behind the rules.

Thanks for the replies. Where I store the trailer I have free power. I want to double check the area and make sure it is level. We plan on doing a little more camping this season. Going to leave more items in the trailer between trips.

Factory specs call for +-3 deg. Front to back ( OF TRAILER) +-5 deg. aside to side ( OF TRAILER ). With the level being placed in the freezer bottom. Remember you should only have to do this once because this is how you level the trailer for set-up levels that you fasten to the out side of the unit.

New to RVing having just bought a new White Hawk 30DSQB....haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet but have been checking everything out as it sits on the drive. Fired up the refrig today first on LP....worked great and cooled down very quick...lowered the setting on coldness and switched to 120...still does great...question I have...when you feel of the outside of the doors(both refrigerator and freezer) they are extremely cold....is this normal for RV refrigerators???...certainly do not appear to have much insulation in them.

I don't recall the face of my Dometic being COLD. Try putting a bottle of water inside to see if it freezes. May be too cold.
