Refrigerator trouble

Has anyone who owns a Jayco Jay Flight 34rsbs had trouble with their Norcold refrigerator? It will turn on but won't get cold. No error codes appear. Camper purchased in June 2018 brand new.

My 2019 248rsbw fridge takes a few hours to get cold.

How long is yours on before you check?

First off it needs to be somewhat level to work. Don't try to run on a sloped driveway as you can damage the unit. I will assume that it is a propane/electric unit and not a residential one.

Does the interior light come on when the door is opened? If so, you have 12 volt power to it which is required for operation. Have you let it run overnight as it takes awhile to get cold.

Have you tried both propane and electric? I personally think propane is easiest to troubleshoot because you should see a flame if it is trying to cool. If there is no flame and you have full propane and have run the stove to purge the lines, the unit may not be trying to cool. If there is a flame and it hasn't cooled overnight, you have a big problem.

With these dual (gas and elect) fridges, you have to narrow down what is not working. If both propane and elect do not work, there are common things between the two. If only one or the other doesn't work, that will bring in different possible failure parts.

So, the questions we need answered before being able to hopefully point you in a direction:

1. Lights up, no error code?
2. Temperature setting at a low temp?
3. Flame on propane?
4. Doesn't work on propane or electric?

Take a look around this mobile RV tech's videos for some possible help. He's very thorough and methodical in his explanations. Your exact model may not be there, but the basic theory might lead you to a fix.

After a few years of service our fridge would only get “cool”. The 2 fans behind the fridge that help move air over the condenser fins had died. I replaced them and my problem was solved.
