Refrigerator wont start

2014 Jayco Jay Flight 198. Turned frig on to gas to get started. will not stay on. do not know what we are doing wrong. It tries to start but them quits. First trip tomorrow and this is a bummer.

Any help would be appreciated. Dealer no help because mechanics dont work on Sunday.

Fridge not wanting to start on LP is a common problem, but one that is generally fairly easy to solve. I'm assuming you've already checked to make sure you have propane in your tank(s) and your tank valve is turned on. The LP line is generally a long one, and it will get filled with air when the tank is shut off and the LP line is disconnected. Fastest way to clear the lines of air is to open the door & a couple of windows, then turn on a cook-top burner and light it. Once the lines are cleared of air, the fridge should fire up on the first or second try. If that doesn't work, you'll need to take it to the dealer for a check-up when you return from your trip. (There are quite a few post on this site about kinked propane lines.) You may have to run the fridge on electric mode (auto) for this trip. Get it good and cold, before you leave, and it should stay cold for several hours while traveling if you avoid opening the refer door. You can plug it back in once you get to your campsite.

How long does the burner stay lit? You may have to purge the line of air. Also, check the propane tank. Not trying to sound like a smart a**. But it may be something that simple. Could also be a kinked hose going to the
Burner. Crawl under the trailer and trace the line back from the burner and check for kinks. Also turn off your tank, and slowly turn it back on. The regulator might be locking up. I'll be checking this thread if you need any other ideas

I agree with these replies. The lines are long. I run the stove burner, light it and this year I lit all 3 once the first one went. Then I turn on the water heater and fridge. Should solve it.

Does fridge work on shore power? If so maybe run furnace to purge gas line before trying fridge on gas. If furnace works and fridge still doesn't work on gas, than u have an issue with fridge or gas delivery to fridge. If fridge doesn't work on shore power nor on gas u probably have a fridge issue since it doesn't work on either. Need more info on what u tried.
