replace or upgrade hot water tank?

I have a Jay Flight BH 26 and my hot water tank developed a pin hole leak. I believe it is a 6 gallon tank. I would like to upgrade to a 10 gal tank. Does Jayco provide a 10 gallon tank for my model and would it be "plug and play" or would I have to make some modifications? I am disabled so it would have to be as simple as possible. Would just sticking with a 6 gallon tank be the best option?

Exact replacment is usuallly the easiest path.

Are you sure the tank is leaking and not a connetion?

x2 on exact replacement. Also, my brother's tt water heater developed a leak and he was able to get it repaired which turned out fine and was MUCH cheaper than replacement.

Thanks for the reply.

Yep, sure. I had to tear the styrofoam off to see it. It isn't near any connection. I had already tried using waterweld and it held the water pressure, but when I turned the hot water on it started to leak again.

Thanks for reply. I tried to fix it myself with some waterweld epoxy and it held the water pressure, but it started to leak when I turned the heat on. I had waited 2 days before even turning the water back on to give it time to cure... oh well.

We had to replace the one in our old trailer. It would have been easy, just a gas line, two water lines and three wires. Except for the fact that it happened while camping and the nearest dealer was an hour and a half away, and all of my tools were three hours away. I managed to do it with multiple trips into town for this tool or that part. On the whole, it wasn't difficult.

Sorry, I should have given more detail. He removed the tank and took it to a welding shop that did vessels and had it welded. Worked fine and was a cheap solution.

I actually live in my tt full time. I have repaired a bunch of stuff on my tt. Unfortunately when I became disabled I gave all my tools away. Now I am slowly replacing them.
