Exclamation Replacing black water tank 184 BH

Hello,

Does anyone have tips on replacing the 9 gallon black water tank on 184 BH or similar? I would imagine there is a vent connected to the tank but it must in the wall next to the toilet? Do you need to cut an access panel to cut it?

Also, Does any now if the closet flange is threaded or glued?

Any advice would be much appreciated, I will post pics of the process as well

You have given me something to think about. I was planning on removing my black water tank so that I can add a support to a soft floor area. It doesn't look like it will take that much but I hadn't considered a vent and I think that you are right that there should be one. Oh well, back under to study the situation some more. After the next camping trip

If you can drop the tank straight down the vent may slide down with it then you can cut it if needed, it may be threaded. The toilet flange is usually attached to a threaded nipple, at least it has been on all that I have worked on.

Okay, just back from the Burlingame Rhode Island campground and there is indeed a vent pipe at the uphill side as expected. It can't be that big a deal so I have over a month before the next planned trip so there is plenty of time to drop the tank and stiffen up the floor. I will let you know how the toilet and vent pipe attaches. Maybe in the next week or two.
