Replacing carpet in 27RLS

We're pulling up the carpet in our 27RLS. The carpet on the slide-out has a thin metal film underneath. I'm wondering if this was for static control. We're putting down flooring planks so I don't know if the film is needed.
Has anyone else had any experience with carpet removal or replacement and has seen this?
Thank you

Could the thin metal film be a moisture barrier, much like is used when tile or linoleum is laid on a house concrete slab?

Metal film under carpet

It could be but seems too thin and it's laying on top of what appears to be like rubber matting. It doesn't go all the way to the wall so I suspected anti-static.
Thank you

You might be right, but I would think the jute backing of the carpet would insulate the metal film from the carpet fibers, thus negating the anti-static function.
