Replacing frosted "glass" in door
Has anyone replaced the frosted plexiglass in the door of their camper? We have a 23MRB, and the DW finds it mildly annoying that she can't look out the door (unless it's just the screen). She says there is plenty of room to hang a little curtain between the screen and the main door, if privacy becomes and issue, but that she'd rather be able to look out the door rather than craning to look through other windows to see who's out front.
It looks like it would be a simple matter to remove the screws on the window frame, replace it with clear plexi, and put them back, but things not usually being as easy as they look, we thought we'd ask.

I have never seen one with plexiglass.
They are usually tempered glass. If you remove it be very careful as it can fall out and break when the screws are all removed if not supported.

Ah, well, that makes a difference - thanks, norty1. Other than dropping it, though, do you think replacing it would be a problem?

There are a couple of YouTube videos out there that show changing out that Window. Just be very careful and have a partner for best results. Most go with a tempered Black safety glass so they can see out but not in. Been contemplating removing/replacing ours as DW also does not like it.
I did see an Ad in the latest Trailer Life that is selling a Tempered glass replacement with various Designs, logos, etc. embedded in the glass. Pricy but another option. It is designed to be able to see out but not in.

It is a simple change out, and many have done it. Anything from decorative stained glass looking fixtures to a store bought tinted replacement. Just a matter of removing the interior screws on the trim ring and the glass will come out. Pretty much a 2 person job unless you tape up the outer ring real good, and trust it won't fall out that way.
Here's you a couple of links. I think this might be what you're looking for.

I did it and it was easy and it only takes one person, no different than a house window. Put a little duct tape on the outside frame and your good. Remove the screws on the inside and the frame comes right out. The window won't just fall out because it has window putty holding it in but it comes out easy. I took my window to the local glass house and oudered tinted safety glass. Make sure to leave them the window to make an accurate replacement. The cost was less than $30.00, $23.00 comes to mind and I know it wasn't 30. Just do it because it makes a world of difference.

Good idea, Our window is so high that privacy would not be a big problem.
I would never have guessed you could get a piece of tempered glass for that price!

I found a window shade at IKEA that's just the right size and it's only $19.00. I attached it to the valance with just 2 drywall screws 1" long.

It is very easy to change the glass.. it does take 2 people to do it and some tape.. I have helped lots of people change it over when I sell them stained glass windows to replace the frosted one. with someone on the outside to catch the frame and glass take the screws out.. remove the inside and outside frames and glass put the new glass inplace securing the edge of the glass to the frame with tape (I use duct tape) wipe off the door where the frame was (OK you can ignore that step if you want) carefully replace the frame and reinsert the screws. First time you do this give yourself an hour after that it will take 10 min.
