Exclamation Reverse Polarity AC

2018 27rl has a 15k Dometic AC unit when the AC is running the Dio on my surge protector says I have a reverse polarity issue. As soon as the AC cycles off it clears. This would not seem normal to me. What ideas or suggestions are out there? Please Help

Is that surge protector on the pedestal, before the panel if hard wired? It is reading your shore power status, not the load after the panel. Can you get the surge protector checked out?

The surge protector is on my pedestal in my yard and it did not show this issue with my 2016 model Jayco. And it only shows the issue when AC is running. However I did replace my 30 amp breaker box after the 16 model but it shows clean when no rv is plugged in. Puzzling isn't it.

Ok I think I have found the issue I wired the pedestal in reverse on purpose (unplugged ofcourse)and got a major reverse polarity fault. So I wire it back clean plugged in surge and RV. When AC kicks in the reading is OPEN Ground not reverse. The ground issue is at the breaker box in the barn. I direct grounded the pedestal. So I think once I clean up the grounding issue in the barn I'll be good to go. Funny thing thou it only shows open when AC is running. You would think it would show all the time.

Good you found it, that it would only show that with AC would still be a good idea to check out the device itself. Maybe go full EMS .

It's not unheard of for motors to have a bit of current leakage from their windings to ground. Especially motors with their windings submerged in oil or refrigerant. An instrument monitoring the presence of current flowing in a ground wire might pick it up. The winding insulation may break down further over time. You may want to start a warranty process.
