Rhodes Rv won't repair my camper

I bought a 2008 Jayco Bungalow in 2008 for $30,000 from Rhones RV at Gogan Station Pa. They are 40 miles from me. I called them to service my camper and told me that was too far for them to travel. They did the warranty trips and delivered my camper. Now they won't service the camper because there's no warranty and I am 40 miles away. Is that how Jayco Authorized Dealers act. I have issues with my furnace, electric hot water and I have a leak underneath my camper. I am willing to pay for everything.

Rhodes Rv won't repair my camper

I've always taken my own vehicles and trailers to dealers for service. I've never had anyone pick up. Is that the norm in the USA for dealers to pick up? I think it's awesome that you had it done during your warranty period.

Is there a particular reason you can't drop it off?

edit: is this a park model that stays at the destination? Did they offer to service if you paid a travel fee? Pics show it has wheels a tongue to tow, but not sure if that's feasible for you if you have it set up permanently?

Most dealers won't travel to you to perform warranty work so you got really lucky there... I don't know of any local dealers around me that do traveling repairs but there are independents that will.

I would try to find an independent or take the RV to them for repair. I doubt they'll turn you away if you take it to them.

Edit.. doh.. as the guy above mentioned... I missed that it's a park model which rules out you taking it to them...

I find it hard to believe a dealer wouldn't jump on this out of warranty work. What kind of business rejects a cash cow?

I would think if they aren't setup to be mobile with parts and tools it can be a lose compared to keeping a tech busy in the shop.

John8756 there are repair persons whose business is mobile RV repair. I'll bet if you ask around you can find a good person who wants to come out and fix your trailer.

+1 Do a google search for a mobile rv repair company. That is their business.

Agree. Most dealers I know are not set up to do mobile repairs but there are everywhere, just ask around. The dealer would not likely be any better than a mobile repair on a 08 unit and anyone can order parts.

I doubt many dealers would travel that distance for a new unit let alone one that's 7 years old. Is this on a seasonal site that you can't get it towed to the dealer? Maybe they can help you arrange for a tow?
