Roof Concerns

We have a 1 1/2 YO 22FB.

After inspecting the roof I found three areas that looks like something (like the head of a nail) is pushing up from under the rubber roof.

Since the TT is still under warranty is this something I should take back to the dealer, or just hammer back down and apply a roof sealant?

Is this a common problem or a sign of something worse? I can find no signs of any leaks and want to keep it that way.

Your thoughts and suggestions will be much appreciated!

It's not unusual for debris to sometimes be left underneath the roofing material, or a possible screw lifting up. Since you are still under warranty it's best to take it for warranty service before attempting to make a correction on your own.

2X what Bob said... Warranty work, that way there is a record of the problem.

Jayco states that debris under the rubber roof is normal and accepted by them. I went through the same thing. Have your dealer inspect the roof and u then have a paper trail.

May 8th 2014 - finally got the dealer to take a look at the roof and after contacting Jayco - NOTHING was done. According to the SM of the dealership, Jayco will not authorize any repair until the rubber membrane is punctured by the debris that is causing the problem.

Not very reassuring for me as the warranty period expires at the end of July. Very disappointed in Jayco, although I still think they make a good unit.

I guess I sort of feel like I have purchased an Edsel. Although it may be a good Edsel . . . it is still an Edsel. OH, have I just dated myself?

Have you tried "helping" the debris come on through the membrane? I would image that a small hole could easily turn into 1/2 the rubber roof peeling off while en-route back to the dealer. Just saying.
