Roof cracks in New Hummingbird

Went to put the winter cover on my new Hummingbird (purchased at end of August) and discovered four cracks in the roof where the vents and antenna are installed. Finally had a call back from the dealer and they want me to bring the TT in next week. I am looking for advice, what should I expect the dealer to do to fix this? What do some of you think is a reasonable approach to take with the dealer? Thanks

Another stated you have a 1 piece fiberglass roof. That is kinda nice!. I would take a bunch of pictures, digital film is cheap so take lots of images.

Personally, I would cover the cracks with a tape to keep any moisture out. Ether Eternabond, which is a pain to remove later, but 100% sealed. Or if they are not to big, my favorite temporary fix is electrical tape. It seals down nicely, removes easily, and the adhesive residue can be removed easily too. I am not a big fan of Duct tape as it dries out and is a pain to remove later, and most are not water resistant/proof.

Next is a call to the dealer, schedule an appointment. It is coming into winter, so they should be slowing down, and I bet you aren't in no hurry to get it back plus they can store it for you.

Getting it water tight would be my first priority. Water can do a lot of damage to a camper fast.

I suspect one of two different fixes. 1st, they will order a new roof and replace it. Depending on the damage, they may send it to a fiberglass repair shop and they will do a proper fiberglass repair. I had this done on a sidewall and you could not find the cracks when they were done.

The roof solution

OK, the problem has been solved. Simply put - I should have looked at the "cracks" a little more closely. I raised a bit of a fuss with the dealer and left the TT in for repair. A couple of hours later I had a call from the dealer, my "cracks" were not cracks, but rather remnants of black sealant on the roof from manufacture. A little solvent removed the "cracks." Needless to say, I felt like a complete ass. I am sure that I provided quite a laugh for the service department. Needless to say, I will be dropping of a Christmas gift for them.
Thanks to all who commented and best wishes for the holiday season.

Glad it was not a major issue.

I like the idea of a little treat to let them know you care.

Thanks for the update, I was slightly concerned. It made me get up there and check everything out so that was a good motivator to do a thorough roof inspection

Glad that was it! I have had to get up close on some of the thin black "lines" on our roof, too. They look like cracks until I get right on them. They can easily trick me.
