Roof Discoloration

We were packing up following the long weekend yesterday and I noticed some color on the roof as I retracted the awning. I went up and saw this odd black and orange discoloration on the roof. This is in the middle of the trailer, close to the air conditioner.

Does anyone know what causes this discoloration? Is this anything to be concerned about?

I am going to take the trailer to the dealer for winterizing and have them touch up all the sealants; is there something that needs to be addressed here?

Thanks!!

Unless it was caused by a tree or some algae growth I would suggest you have the A/C unit checked. Your coils/pan may be rusting which would discolor the water. Once this runs over it looks like it pooled in one area of your roof and caused the discoloration. If it is very slick it is most likely an algae. Just wash the roof well.

Have you tried to remove some of it? Is it on top of roof rubber, or underneath? It does need to be addressed. If there is a warranty roof problem, Jayco will not like that!

Thanks, guys. I just noticed yesterday. I'll look at more carefully this week. I do not think under the rubber roof, but did not look thoroughly enough to be sure.

I was at the trailer this evening. I tried cleaning an area with a little dish soap and water. I looked at the AC unit; I did not see any rust.

It seems like it is some kind of stain. It is dry to the touch; not at all slick.

That looks like one of those under a tree stains, but I don't know if yours is under a tree at that area. Your roof should be a Dicor Diflex II TPO roof. I only mention that as there was nothing in our stack of papers on what ours had, so a call with vin verified that they were using this particular roof now. Used to be the Alpha.
