roof had something pointed sticking up about 1" from edge

I found a spot on the roof (TPO) which looked like something was poking up from underneath. It was hard and kind of sharp. The membrane did not look punched, but it appeared to have a small fray of material on outside. I was able to tap whatever what sticking up back down without damaging the membrane anymore than what appeared to be just a fray. And after I did that it did not even appear to be frayed. So, I cleaned the area and put a dab of 501 self leveling seal on it just to make sure. I did not feel it warranted a patch and thought this would be a good fix. I will watch it, but don't see a problem.
Any thought about that?

Very good, exactly what I would have done. Good on the monitoring as well.

The only issue I see is wonder what it was? Being able to tap it back down, not sure what it would be. As far as I know screws are used on the underlying wood part of the roof.

Only other thing I would do is to check for softness around that area (water intrusion)- that could have caused it to pop up.

dxrobertson, Ya it's kind of weird. Maybe it was actually something that was sticking in from top but did not seem that way to me. I checked for water damage/soft spots and it's solid. I don't think the membrane was compromised, at lease completely though
