Rookie Question

Good Afternoon Everybody,

We are about to take our 267bhsw out for its second trip to Kentucky. The night before we leave, I intend to park the trailer and plug it in at my house. I'd like to get the beds made up and trailer stocked ahead of time.

It's about 95 degrees here. I know I can't just plug in my 30 amp power cable into the house or it will melt when I use the A/C. Are there safe alternatives? Adapters?

Thanks,
RememberTillman

Best way is to install a dedicated 30amp outlet for the tt. There is a 15a-30a adapter that you may be able to run the a/c on low, but other than the fridge try not to run anything else....

Have a safe and fun trip!!!!

An adapter will not change the high current draw the a/c pulls from your low 15/20 amp supply. A 20 amp circuit might hold the load if little else's is in but it also may trip the breaker ever time the a/c starts too.

Look at the circuit breaker that is in the trailer for the A/C. Chances are it is a 15 amp breaker. That means that if you plug in to a 20 amp circuit from your house you should be okay as long as you don't run the microwave while the A/C is running. I've run my A/C off my 20 Amp household circuits on several occasions.

However, keep and eye on the adapter for the plug. Some of them won't handle more than 15 amps. It the adapter plug starts getting hot, turn off the A/C.

With our 23B we could run fridge, lights, radio and A/C from a 20A circuit. On a 15A the A/C would trip the breaker.
