Rug on island slide bunches

Anyone else with a center island have issues with the rug on the great slide bunching up when it hits the island? Any fixes out there? Its mostly cosmetic but when you put the slide out the rug really never flattens back out. Short of the rug being shorter which would expose the slide frame I am not really sure what can be done. Probably the island should have been a few inches skinnier.

Mine does this too. Fortunately, I store mine at home and leave the slide out most of the time. Mine usually flattens out shortly after putting the slide out.

Our Eagle did that too and fortunately it always flattened back out pretty quickly once the slide was opened

Frustrating no doubt. Will that carpet edge fold up manually when it bumps up against the island? Not sure if that changes anything if it won't flatten by itself when extending the slide.

If it would fold up from the edge I actually think it would be Better, it more catches and “tents” if you will rather than the edge folding up. Edge stays on the floor, it lifts 2-3” back from the lip.

Maybe some Bullnose mounding would lift the edge and have it fold up, I might just give that a try. Then some carefully placed velcro could hold the edge down if it doesn’t want to lie down.

It will eventually flatten out but it takes a while.
