FWIW - we have used both inverter and non-inverter gennys. The current crop is a Honda 7000is and a Harbor Freight 3200 inverter. No problems with either as far as power. We drag race, so I have a $1000 weather station along with a couple of laptop computers for use at the track. At the track, we run both trailers - the 34' race unit and the RV - off the Honda. We have run same on a 7500w Champion non-inverter which is loud as hell (and for sale) and had no power related issues. In the past before we got so dang fancy, we used a 24' box with 13.5 AC and the computers, all running on a 3500/4000 Champion. The little Champ was a nice unit, not very loud. The 7500 Champ is solid as a rock, but you can hear it for a mile - or two. The Honda is very quiet.
