rv outside handle

we have a new tt and jayco has a handicap type handle on the outside of the door that can be placed against the door or against the rv body and then in the middle for a handle grab handle. If someone wanted to play a prank on another person who has this handle and they were to move the handle against the door when someone is inside would the person inside be able to open the door and get out. This seems to me to maybe be a potential hazard if the handle were used to lock someone inside. If you have one of these let me know what you think.

Fairly certain it only "locks" into position when it is extended 90 degrees from the trailer. Try putting it against the door and opening the door from the outside. It should just rotate back to 90 degrees and lock in.

It has the same size detent to hold it in all 3 positions. If it didn't have any in the storage positions then it would just swing open during travel. My new White Hawk doesn't have that type of handle, but the Eagle that I just got rid off did.

Edit: I just looked at some photos online and it appears that the detent to hold it open is deeper than the ones to hold it closed.

Did try it in my White Hawk. Door will not open. Very strong spring holds the handle in place, which is what you would expect for it provide assistance in entering and exiting the trailer. I have a second door without such a handle, so no problem.

D'oh... didn't even think of that. I'm surprised there is a detent to lock it against the door though. Seems... interesting, to say the least. I might have some fun with my buddies next camping season !
