Sand pads

We just picked up our new 2016 Jayco 26BH. I was reading about the electric stabilizer jacks and it says it comes with 4 electric jacks with sand pads. Was I supposed to receive 4 separate pads for the jacks?

I think it just means the bottom of the jack has a flat area that contacts the ground

We also just bought a 2016 Jay Flight 26BH Elite with the electric stabilizer jacks. I did not get any separate pads. My guess is the pads on the electric jacks have a slightly larger footprint and are considered sand pads. Enjoy the new TT!

If you're going to be setting up in loose sand or dirt areas, I would suggest buying pads or making some contact pads ( atleast twices the size of your jack footprint ) to help distribute the weight evenly over a larger area.

I picked up a 2x12 wood board from the dump the other day and cut them up for JACK pads... My last same type set I had is just now needing to be replaced. They all started to curve on me...

Sand pads are the plates on the bottom of the stablizer. I carry a couple pieces of square plywood to put under the pads to distribute the weight over a larger area.

I you don't use a load dispersing pad in soft dirt the pads will start to look like upside down mushrooms.

I had to laugh when I read what this thread was about. Last week I camped at Del Mar (Pendleton - my first time camping at the beach) and when I extended my front jacks the boards I had under the jacks started to sort of slide/slip backwards on the sand. There was a moment of panic there when I wondered if I was supposed to set up differently on sand.
