Satellite connection issues?

Bought a Winngard Carryout G3 dome, got a receiver thru directv. Cant get a signal. Connected coax from dome to the connection on the out side of the trailer. Unplug coax from tv and connected to retriever, says cant find signal. Any ideas, I dont think connection from outside trailer is what runs to the tv, I think connection to tv runs to Antenna on roof, because when I unplugged it to connect to the back of receiver I know longer had even regular channels in the area.
Thanks

On my 23b the cable went into the winegard antenna amp. I just simply unscrewed the cable from the amp and screwed the cable into my cable box. Solved the problem for me.

Have you tried to directly connect the sat cable to the back of the TV? Several here talk about the cheep splitters used in the cabling of our RVs.

On my 232 RB I have a jumper by the button for the antenna booster. I remove the jumper and plug my dish in the bottom port, it locates and works great.

Save yourself a ton of headaches and get this little guy here. Hook one end on your connection outside, then go inside with the other half and find exactly what cable that is on the inside without question.

What you think, or the manual says, may not be what it is. You will need a dedictaed coax line from the receiver to the dish with no splits. Locate the dedicated line first then I bet it all works fine.

just wanted to add my 2 cents...
I had similiar problem, at a campground which had cable tv available. plugged my cable from the parks cable box to my outside cable connection and could not receive any signal. Got trailer home (whitehawk 30rls) and did some inspecting and found that Jayco had not properly installed the rg59 connector into the wall mounted cable receptacle which is mounted to the outside of our trailers. The cable separated immediately upon a light tug of the cable. The cable was also far too short for the run. Made the necessary repairs myself. Make sure you check the cables for tightness. There is nothing complex about any of this.
