Sausage fingered guys can't close door...

Just bought a 28DSBH, so it has a exterior bathroom door. My apologies if this has already been covered, I couldn't find it. The plastic cover on the screen door covers up too much of the actual door handle; I obviously can close the door but it is real hard to grasp to pull the door and to pull the handle to latch it. Had the idea of actually cutting the plexiglass and replace the screen around the plexiglass to make the screen longer. Hate to mod a camper I just bought!
1st time camper! Thanks for any ideas/help!

I feel your pain as I had the same problem. I drilled a small hole in the metal door handle pull and ran a loop of paracord through it. I just grasp the loop now when needing to close the door. Maybe not the perfect solution, but simple and effective.

Silva,

Welcome and congrats on the new rig!!!

I have considered doing the same thing on our 32 to the bathroom screen door. Just haven't gotten to that part of the mod list yet!!!

Keep us posted if you do the mod.

I've got the same problem on my Starcraft's bathroom door, and I am not quite up to sausage size fingers. Maybe just hot dog. What a poor design. I like the para-cord idea. For now I just stick my finger in at an angle. It has been on my list for some sort of mod, but it hasn't made it up to the top yet.

Found a stock photo! On the attached pic, where the red line is is where the end of the plexiglass stops so you barely have room to grab the handle. Thanks for the replies, the link to the extra door handle won't work on this instance. I like the paracord idea, but I'm thinking of using the existing screws on the handle and placing paracord or strapping material around the handle and then rescrewing the handle back on.
