schwintek slide Reliable ??

Hello everyone,
We bought a new 2016 Starcraft 24 RLS, love the floor plan. But my our
schwintek slide sounds like it jumping teeth on the rack, only on one side and about 3/4th of the way out. The slide sounds normal on the way in. The RV is level during this test.
Jayco owns Starcraft and I think ours is made in a Jayco factory in Topeka Indiana.
Just wondering what the feel is for these schwintek slides?

They are used by Winnebago on there MHs and other units as well by other manufacturers, not just JAYCO and STARCRAFT. And yes the STARCRFT units are made in TOPEKA, but STARCRAFT is a separate operating division. If it was jumping teeth the slide would not go out evenly since the motors are sync'd.

We have the same unit and our swhintek slide makes noise but it seems to operate properly. We are not too concerned about the noise at this time. Yes the floor plan is the best.

Thanks for the comment, If you didn't know where the schwintek controller is on the 2016 24 RLS its located under the Stereo/DVD player next to the heater screwed to the floor.

There are many videos on youtube concerning the Swhintek slides. It is important to operate them correctly or they will become misaligned. You must run it all the way out and hold the button for 3 - 5 seconds and do the same when running it back in. When out of sync you can do this 4 or 5 times to re sync. Never stop part of the way out or in and then reverse direction. Another issue seems to be motors specked out to small causing them to burn up but doesn't sound like your issue.

We have the small bedroom slide by Schwintek. It does make different sounds and you get in tune to sounds and really notice when they are not right.

Our Schwintek sounds different but always works so that is the sound I'm listening to. BTW, it does not hurt to read and look at videos so if there is a problem, you will have a clue what to do.

That's the beauty of the rv lifestyle, it expands your opportunity to learn new things.
