An inch is O.K., but remember, they are "stabilizing" jacks; NOT "leveling jacks". The most important thing is to make sure they're all tightened evenly, so you don't twist the trailer frame. I've noticed if I get the frame twisted even a little, I have trouble closing/latching my entry door. At my winter site in Texas, I had it so skewed that the bathroom door wouldn't latch. Thought I was going to have to relocate the strike plate. But when I retracted the jacks to leave, the bathroom door closed & latched perfectly. Just goes to show you it doesn't take much!
