Second season starting

Hello all. Here in the Midwest, most campgrounds are beginning to open. We own a JAYCO 23RLSW. This is the second season with this unit. I felt that the unit was high when trying to level it, so I had my DW place leveling blocks under the jacks while lowering the legs. most of the sites we use are level and the blocks are just to keep the legs from extending too far. My question is, are there anyone else using the blocks under the jacks and if so, how many? Thanks for all opinions..

I use all my blocks (I use the lego type) when setting up. Not because the 5er is too high, just so I don't have to extend the jacks as far. I feel it makes things a bit more steady at night.

Many people use lynx levelers or other lego type blocks for this purpose. Many others and us included use blocks of wood.

I have four 6x6x16 inch blocks with additional 4x4 blocks in case I need to stack higher, which I use exactly how you describe. So that my stabilizer jacks do not have to extend so far down. Stabilizers extended too far down become self defeating, losing their own stability.

I use the lynx lego looking blocks (we have 2, 10 packs of them) for the stabilizer jacks, and I have about 2 ft worth of, pressure treated 8x8 posts cut into 16 inch or so lengths. Between the WDH requirements, the fact that some of these Jaycos are higher off the ground anyway, and the fact that I sometimes find myself on a downward sloping angle (requiring more stroke out of my tongue jack than it has) - I always carry a whole lot of blocking material. I don't want to have to use that tongue jack anymore than required. It takes a ton of power, isn't the highest quality jack in the world, and has enough problems without over working it.

We also have a 23RLSW and it is a high trailer which we like.

I use 4 4x6 pressure treated blocks under each jack.

I do not like to extend the jacks very far and it makes it more stable.

I made two racks out of aluminum angle to carry the blocks under the trailer and by each set of jacks. (Trailer being high gives you plenty of room for the racks)

I put drawer handles on the end of each block and use a telescoping awing rod to extract the blocks from the racks.
