Securing item on TT interior walls

Is it similar to a house where you are looking for a stud.
Say if I wanted to put something up without screwing into the wall, can you use industrial strength Velcro or is that too damaging to the wall?

Yes, you can use a wall stud, just be aware of thinner walls than your house. You can also use Command Strips, as that is what we use.

Happy Camping!

If you are looking to hang something lightweight go with command strips but if you are looking at a bath cabinet or tv find the studs. Most likely that stud will be a 2X2 so don't look for a very long screw to use.

Stud is best of course for something heavier, as in a house. Most of these walls are thin wood backed, I believe 1/8 inch thick.

You can mount at the wall voids:

As mentioned, commands work well.

I have used small brad type nails angle up. Screwed hooks with wood screws into the wall voids. These are lightweight applications; jacket, hat, dog leash...

It’s a travel trailer command hooks don’t stay up with a crap when the temperature swings. Solid type surface use screws or those small screw in hooks. I got tired of paying to replace those command hooks multiple times.
Expanding rivets work good too they expand on the back side to they don’t pull out. If the hole is larger in the item you want to hang than the head of the rivets just add a washer

I have had the command strips pull the wall board lamination off. Hanging a jacket for a month did it. I'd use em for light duty only.

This guy on the podcast below used these hollow wall anchors from Everbilt he used #6-32 x 1 inch.

Evidently can’t add a you tube link sorry
Anyways they open up on the inside of the wall.

I thought the guy showed a lot more guts than me poking holes in a wall you can’t spackle if a mistake was made.

I have used command hooks, screws into wood, and this double sided mounting tape. All depended on the item. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
