Just Google Paypal Scams and you can read all the ways it can go south. Outside of dealing directly through E-bay with a known account(rated) and Paypal it can get very murky.

The buyer retains all the leverage in most of these transactions if it is done through Paypal as well.

Who really is going to buy site unseen and have their "friend" pick up...

I agree with sask934 ask for a certified Bank Check...

Since you are selling on Craig's List, tow it somewhere very public and safe like a Police Station parking lot, if they are going to cause you harm, they won't show up at a Police Station...
