Not sure what to do? Do I scrap the battery s d buy a new one or where can I bring it to get properly charged and tested? These things aren't cheap.

if you get one don't get a deep cycle or at least I wouldn't ... I would go with a dual purpose if anything because deep cycle is more expensive and being charged all the time you really don't need one

I always check prices at auto stores and walmart to find the best deal on similar battery.. same size and group on each and same cold cranking amps and amp hour rating ... a dual purpose can be charged more regularly like the one in your car ... as soon as it starts it is charging.... a deep cycle is meant to be used like for boondocking where it will be discharged for quite a while and then slow charged back up ... I ruined a deep cycle using it as a starting battery on my boat one time because it was charging it all the time

Probable the best is gone from the battery, just keep it on the trickle charger for awhile.
When it is in your Jay Feather keep it plugged in at home. It might still work for you this year. Plan for replacement next year.

Lukenick's plan is to get this thread to 20 pages.

Checked on battery this morning and the charger has advanced from "charging" to "charged". Hopefully that it a good thing. I will leave it on there until I pick up the TT and hope it works. Is it possible the power jack will run it right down?

If the electric jack just about kills the battery you will know that it's not in very good shape.

If the battery is still putting out 459CCA (cold cranking amps) it should not have any problem putting out enough power for anything in your trailer.
The capacity remaining might be reduced a fair bit but it should still work for you while towing and if you are plugged in at any site you visit.

Thank you everyone! You have all been a wealth of information to me and I really appreciate it. Booked my first trip of the season in mid April and can't wait to go!

I was going to post this before but as usual I forgot... If you want to check the mfr date of the battery (when you purchase a new battery it should not be more than 3 months old), here is how you do it. Each mfr imprints the mfr date in either the battery case or the lead terminal base. Interstate melts the code into the battery case near the terminal. Each mfr has a page for breaking down the code. Here is what Interstate's code breakdown looks like:
The first digit from the left is a letter. It stands for the month of the year. A = January; B = February; C = March, etc. The second digit from the left is the year the battery was shipped from the factory. 4 = 2004, 5 = 2005, 6 = 2006, 7 = 2007, 8 = 2008, 9 = 2009, 0 = 2010, 1 = 2011, 2 = 2012, etc
Don
