Sewer dump hose

Just getting tt ready for our first trip in a few weeks. New to the tt world , all I have is the dump hose that came with it ( never used ) do I need anything else to empty black tank ? Like a elbow adapter or anything . Do I need a length of hose to flush the black tank ? Or do dump stations have it on water supply?

Most carry a clear adapter so you can see when the tank is done dumping. Also some adapters for the other end to adapt to the sewer dump. Some places require a rubber ring to seal the hose. Any camping supply or even Walmart carry most everything you need.

A non potable section of hose, 25' and a spray attachement, is also a useful addition, in addition to the one you use for drinking water.

Some rubber gloves for sanitation are also helpful.

This elbow Norty1 mentioned comes in pretty handy when dumping the black tank. Amazon.com: Camco 39847 RhinoFLEX Clear 45 Degree Sewer Hose Swivel Fitting: Automotive You can see when the toilet paper has finally flushed out.

The 26BH should have a built in tank flusher so carry a small (15') section of water hose specifically for the task. Most CGs have a water faucet marked "non-potable" for you to use to flush tanks and hoses.

This is what I have. I've seen the clear elbows and they would be handy. Now the hose fits in bumper to store but the ends don't . I guess you have to take ends off to put in bumper ? Seems silly ?

I have the Camco Revolution hose and the end caps don't fit well in the bumper either. I threw the caps, elbows and the flush hose in a storage container in the rear storage area. I don't see the need for the caps on the sewer hose...it just prevents the hose from drying out faster.

Green hose to use only when dumping or hooking up to a tank flush. The white hose should never be used when dumping or cleaning.

In fact all my fresh water hoses and related items ie filters, fittings, etc. are stowed up forward. My green utility hose is stashed in the back along with the other "dirty" items.

I suggest getting a good hose kit for hooking up at a CG that has sewer connections, and using the included one at dump stations.
I have this kit. Amazon.com: Camco 39761 RhinoFLEX 15' Sewer Hose Kit with Swivel Fitting: Automotive
and a clear 45 as well.

Get a box of gloves too!!

If you camp at full hookups having a good hose with nice fitting can be nice. I use the stock hose. Most dump stations you pull up to that is all you really need. Strongly recommend the disposable medical gloves, for sanitation reasons.

What make sense to me:

Keep the elbow in a plastic bucket until you use it at the dump station. When you use the blackwater hose, keep it as straight as possible rather than having a lot of unneeded turns in it. Make the slope continuous in a downward direction - no sags to collect gunk. There are plastic props available for that purpose but you can use rocks, wood, or whatever. Follow the 1st dump with closing the valve and put more fresh water into the black tank (with flush toilet mechanism) and then open the black valve again. Close the black valve and dump the grey water. You can do a better job than this, but it seems to work OK and the hose gets rinsed. Do get rubber gloves and maybe hand sanitizer...

^^X2^^

This is exactly what I did including the clear 45 adapter. Both the RhinoFLEX and the cheapy that came with the trailer when we picked it up fit in the bumper, though it helps to make sure the RhinoFLEX is completely compressed before you put the seal caps on each end of it. Otherwise you will waste some time trying to figure out why it's not fitting in the bumper again....

I'm VERY happy with our Rhino Flex sewer hose! That and a good hose support makes life more enjoyable when making a connection at a full service site!

mine came with the elbow
I had to buy another set as the last site were on, the sewage was at the FRONT of the trailer...(who the heck designs these sites LOL)

the elbow actually threads on to the sewage cap in the ground (usually, some sites might not have this) and twists on to the hose so there should be no leaks...just empty your grey AFTER your black, so you flush out the hose with cleaner water

We just purchased a 2016 HT 27.5 Rlts and are on our maiden voyage. I can't find the black tank valve. Our walk thru was pretty lame. The manual says it may be inside the trailer. So far the manual hasn't been very helpful. Any help is appreciated.

Rhino Flex is great hose and the ends easily fit into the bumper for storage. Good idea someone mentioned to have a white hose for water and green hose for dump purposes and "never the two will meet".
