Sewer hose bayonet fitting detached

The RhinoFlex sewer hose bayonet fitting detached from the sewer hose for our travel trailer. I tried to screw it back on, but nothing seems to work. Is there a trick for re-connecting the fitting, or should I just junk it and buy a new one? I'm on the road (beautiful State of New Mexico), so I'll have to do something soon. Thanks in advance for replies...

Thought they just sort of screwed/pushed on. Those things have a lifespan, may be easier and less worrisome to just buy a new one.

Did you try screwing it in backwards? I think they are reverse thread. You also have to back off the locking ring first, then tighten it up securely.

The pieces do screw together as the hose is replaceable. (Welcome to my world, NM)

Back off the black locking ring, extend that end of of the hose so it is not collapsed and screw the end into the hose, you will see "threads" in the orange part that you screw into, once you have the hose all the way in tighten the black locking ring up to the orange part.

This same thing happened to me this past weekend with our brand new Rhino Flex hose so I got me some experience . I had the same one before but guess it had been screwed all the way in when it was assembled in China because I did not have this issue before.

This time the assembly was lacking.

Mine has a diagram on the fitting. Screw the hose in left handed then tighten the locking ring until it clicks.
