Shopping Length Question

I've been researching buying a unit for some time and I believe I am zeroing in on a 242BHS. I have a family of 5 (3 young kids) and I like the BH floor plan, the U-shaped dinette and a bit of privacy for the parents bedroom.

The specs on JAYCO's website give it at 29' 2". Is that what it is considered tip to tail or is it going to be the body size and then longer with the hitch? Other companies I looked at something called 242 would be 24' body plus a bit for hitch but I wasn't sure if 5' of hitch and bumper was excessive.

Just trying to make sure the overall length is going to be OK with my comfort level before I fall too much in love!

On my eagle it is ball to bumper and I deduct four feet more or less for the box length.

Yes, the 29'2" is total length. The 24 in that model is the approximate amount of living space. My 28BHBE is 33.4" long so the 5' addition for the bumper and tongue is about standard on a travel trailer...at least with Jayco.
