Should i trust the push pin in the shower

Wonder if those push pin retainer for the shower wall would be better with a dab of silicone or if they are kind of water tight?

I don't think they're water tight, maybe slightly water resistant if that. I've never gave them a thought in our shower. Now it's something to look at when we unwrap it.

the bottom of the wall of the shower is not sealed so if water gets behind the surround it should drain into the tub.

i am however thinking of sealing the top of my shower surround to the wall with silicone.

There are a bunch of discussion on sealing the shower including some who called Jayco to check. Jayco says "DO NOT SEAL THE SHOWER" you prevent moisture from escaping and risk a mold issue.
